With the development of techniques and technology, the dental laboratory technicians and laboratories have discovered such solutions with the use of which the dental interventions can be made almost invisible. Today is the age of perfection and beauty, much more than ever, when vanity (which, of course, is not a problem, if not exaggerated) plays an important role in people’s lives.


The simplest intervention of aesthetic dentistry is putting on porcelain shells. In such cases half-one millimetre of the front surface of the tooth is removed, and after taking a proper sample the porcelain shell is prepared, which will exactly fit the surface of the remaining tooth.
Putting on a shell is recommended when your teeth are discoloured, small pieces have broken from the cutting edge, or they are chipped off, and in certain cases shell are applicable to recover the colour of teeth treated with root canal therapy.


Even more serious deformations can be corrected using shells, for example if the axes of the teeth are not vertical, or if the gaps between the teeth are too large, then these gaps can also be eliminated. Unfortunately, the porcelain shell is not a wonder drug, although it provides solution for several problems. Shells cannot be applied if the tooth is deteriorated in a large percent, or if it has great biting abnormality.
